USA West Coast Road Trip 2016

Updated: Dec 5, 2018

My friend Alex proposed the crazy idea of doing a USA West coast Road trip. After months of planning our route, sorting a vehicle (which if you are under 25 it is a lot more expensive), sorting funds, getting our visa's, organising, leaving our jobs and trying to pack 5 weeks worth of clothes into a little suitcase, we decided that 19th May was going to be the day. Not being able to fit 5 weeks worth of footage into 1 video, I decided to put it into 4 parts. This being part 1 shows LA, Venice Beach, Studio City, Hollywood, Beverley Hills, Universal City walk, Malibu and Santa Monica.

Part 2 of the USA Road Trip was from 24th May - 29th May 2016. Driving Route 66, Visiting the Grand Canyon, Provo, Marble Canyon, Kaibab National Forest, Antelope Island State Park and Mesquite. Lots of long stretches of driving on this video, some drives would take 2 hours and others we could be in the car for around 8 hours. All worth it for the views and great memories!

We travelled from Mesquite to Las Vegas on the 1st June 2016, staying in Circus Circus. While in Vegas I decided I wanted to do the Slotzilla which I really can't recommend enough! (worth the money). We decided to do the High Roller (Happy Half an Hour) the evening before my birthday and watched the Bellagio Fountain display. On the 2nd June it was my 22nd birthday and thought we'd make the most of the roller coasters in our hotel. Looking back now that probably wasn't the best idea considering how much we drank on the High Roller. When in Vegas slot machines in the hotels is a MUST and such a laugh. For my birthday me and Alex did the 'Jack of Lights' helicopter tour over Las Vegas which was incredible! (there are lots of different helicopter tours you can do). After a messy few days in vegas we then drove then from Vegas to Merced, Yosemite, Mariposa, Sacramento and Reno.

Finally our USA Road Trip was coming to an end...

We spent the last part of our trip venturing through Sausalito, San Francisco (which was a real highlight of the trip as there really is so much to see: The golden gate bridge, boat trips, Mrs Doubtfire's house, Pier 39, Fishermans wharf, Alcatraz and so much more), then back to Merced (as we found a cheap and relaxing hotel there), Monterey Bay (We would have liked to have gone to Montery Bay Aquarium but it was rather expensive and jam packed) and finishing off by driving down the Pacific Coast Highway (which is beyond breathtaking) back to LA. Most amazing way to end our 'trip of a lifetime'.
